My name is Rita, I'm a professional documentary photographer.
My superpower is stopping time to allow you to see (and keep!) the magic that is hiding in your everyday life.
Photography has been a part of my life ever since I can remember, but it wasn't until I lost one of the most important person of my life, that I truly understood how important it is to capture those little everyday moments in life we take for granted. Because we do take them for granted (and sometimes even resent) like the messy house, the tantrums and the chaotic everyday family life, so perfectly real.
Some facts about me:
I'm an introvert person, intuitive, observant, empathic and creative. I can be quick and busy but can also easily loose myself chasing a bug, listening to the wind, reading a good book or in long conversations of everything and nothing.
I have a degree in Stage Management and worked in film production, cinema, advertising, theatre and events for 15 years.
This experience enhanced my ability to be very versatile, quick to improvise and solve problem. I also learned to be patient and persistent.
I created a nomad ecological project, which travelled from Portugal to Turkey (and back!) on a motorhome fuelled by waste vegetable oil for 5 years, while we volunteered and supported organic farms and projects, in Italy, Greece and Turkey.
I'm also the eldest daughter, the shortest sister, the wife of the best Uruguayan chef residing in Portuguese soil and the mother of two absolutely incredible creatures, who are my biggest inspiration.
